EXPLORE STATION

Multi-user Architectural Visualisation Tours

Client: Design Council / Network Rail

Digital Urban called upon our Unreal and multi-user VR know how to help them and their partners, The Design Council, 7N Architects and Network Rail make this wonderful interactive visualisation of a station of the future, which went on show at The National Railway Museum in York during 2022.

We delivered a multi-user VR experience that went on the road at venues across the UK including York, Manchester, Hereford and Paisley - and even at the V&A in London for London Design Week

It offers members of the public the chance to get a glimpse of what railway stations of the future could look like, taking them on a short journey and exploration.

They experience what it would be like to sit as a passenger on a train pulling up into a new station, view the design out of the window, then to walk around the new station (at their own pace, with luggage and fellow travellers/participants in headsets). It explores the approaches to inclusion and accessibility, how to create vibrant sustainable transport hubs that are also environmentally sustainable and designs that influence wider societal change.

ExploreStation is a UK-wide programme of engagement events curated by Design Council to gather input and feedback on the design proposals.
